Miele's Professional Dishwasher Gets a Facelift

Miele has given its commercial freshwater dishwashers a fresh new look with a black anthracite ergonomic control panel. “Both the fast cycle G 7856 and the NSF approved G 7859 will feature this new panel, which provides a more sophisticated look and enhanced usability for today’s kitchen’s and commercial establishments,” stated John Oliveira, Director of Miele Professional Products.

The sleek new design debuted in Europe earlier this year and received great reviews, leading the company to launch the design in the United States. Starting July 1, Miele Professional Dealers nationwide will begin selling the new models. The new design provides a fresh update to two of Miele’s innovative commercial dishwasher products.

“We currently are the only company offering a commercial dishwasher utilizing a freshwater system that is NSF/ANSI 3 approved by the National Sanitation Foundation.” Oliveira stated. A “freshwater” system uses fresh water for every cycle where most other commercial dishwashers are tank systems, which reuse water from previous cycles and are much louder.” According to Oliveira, the G 7859 provides dual level cleaning and sanitizes with a high rinse temperature that reaches 185° F for 1 minute, providing the necessary sanitation to meet NSF standards without caustic chemicals “Sanitation is a big draw for the G 7859, but powerful cleaning is just as important and Miele delivers that on both counts”, Oliveira stated.

Miele’s G 7859 commercial dishwasher, which offers a fast 10 minute cycle, will also feature the new fascia panel – providing a more sophisticated look for today’s home kitchens. This popular professional dishwasher is gaining popularity among entertaining aficionados and estate home owners, who desire a dishwasher that can deliver speed as well as performance.

Why Miele Professional Dishwashers?
Miele’s high-volume commercial dishwashers have a circulation flow rate of 106 gallons per minute compared to a typical household dishwasher, which will run about 20 gallons per minute. Even though, the Miele pro dishwashers use fresh water for every cycle they use very little water — as little as 6.6 gallons per cycle.

“While many commercial designs recommend the use of harsh chemicals (which often results in etching) to remove lipstick and other materials from glasses, these dishwashers utilize high pressure and temperature as a powerful cleaning action, but add a “soft start” to prevent damage to glassware,” Oliveira stated. In spite of their power, the G 7859 and G 7856 are remarkably quiet for commercial dishwashers, so they can be installed in homes and establishments where the kitchen is within close proximity to guests, and not be a distraction.

Miele’s commercial dishwashers are equipped with a set of standard baskets and inserts to wash plates, cutlery, cups and saucers, but Miele also offers a variety of interchangeable accessories, including baskets for champagne flutes, short glasses and trays, which easily enable the dishwashers to be used for different applications. With its NSF approval, the G 7859 has become a popular choice for day cares, B&B's, small restaurants, retirement homes, churches, fire halls, and any place the public is served and a sanitizing dishwasher is required.

Miele and the Environment
Miele has a long history of environmental leadership. Every detail is considered from the production process and shipping to household use and to the appliance’s ultimate disposal. Miele’s production facilities operate to strict DIN EN ISO 14001 environmental performance standards and Miele recently signed the CECED code of conduct to support human rights and environmental protection globally.

In operation, Miele constantly strives to make every product respect our natural resources. As an example, since 1990 Miele has reduced water consumption by 42.4% and electricity by 29.2% in domestic machines. The same environmental ingenuity has been applied to domestic dishwashers where in the last 15 years water consumption has been reduced by 50.3% and energy use cut by 33.8%. Additionally, from 1990-2002 advancements in Miele oven technology led to a 29% reduction in energy. Miele’s active leadership role in global organizations like the International Electro technical Commission (IEC), Energy Star® (the partnership program backed by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy), the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and others demonstrate the company’s serious position regarding the protection of our global environment.

An unprecedented quality pledge guides Miele to produce appliances that are designed to last for 20 years of continuous use – far longer than the average. And their high metal content and clearly marked plastic components are ready for recycling once the product’s useful life is complete – reducing landfill waste and conserving raw materials for future generations.
