PARADE Proudly Presents New Food Magazine "dash"

A special holiday preview issue of dash, the new monthly food magazine from the publishers of PARADE, is making its debut appearance in local newspapers on or around November 10!

Under the direction of PARADE Editor Maggie Murphy, the new magazine aims to help readers get simple, fast, delicious meals on the table every day. dash blends original content with some of the most popular features from four of America’s most trusted food sources: Bon Appétit, Epicurous.com, Gourmet and PARADE. “I’m very proud to be a part of the creation of dash and to work with such amazing partners,” says Murphy. “We all believe there’s a need for more practical food content and hope to see dash become a staple in kitchens across America.”

dash will begin publishing regularly in February 2011, but we decided to whet readers’ appetites now with this special holiday issue, containing quick and easy tips and recipes to make this year’s holiday “Your Easiest Thanksgiving Ever!” Check out five delicious “make-ahead” side dishes, including One-Dish Stuffing, Cheesy Mashed Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts and Bacon and more!

Planning to tailgate before the next big game? Recipes for portable pepperoni bread, gnocchi skewers and tiramasu to go are so tasty and easy to make that you’ll bring them along with you, and make them at home, too!

dash will also focus on the latest food trends, products and cooking tips. What’s the secret to a perfect pork chop? Let the pan get hot! Don’t throw away extra egg whites! Freeze them in single-sized portions in ice cube trays and defrost as needed. To keep cookies soft, store them in an airtight container, layered with waxed paper, and a slice of white bread. Alternatively, eat cookies more often!
