Mammography Van On-Site at Catherines' Clothing Store

The St. Elizabeth Mobile Mammography Van
will be at Catherines Plus-Sized Clothing store in Florence Square on
January 17, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide women with
mammogram screenings. The event is being sponsored by the Northern Kentucky
Women's Cancer Coalition.

Women who are 40 years or older and haven’t had a mammogram in two years or
more need to sign-up to be screened. Pre-registration is required by
calling (859) 815-1385 by January 15, 2009 to schedule an appointment.
Financial assistance is available thanks to a generous grant from The Susan
G. Komen Foundation. If eligible, the screening will be 100 percent paid
for by this grant from The Susan G. Komen foundation. All women who are
screened will receive a $10.00 Kroger gift certificate. Catherines
Plus-Sized Clothing store is located on 7742 Mall Road, Florence Square in
Florence, KY.

The American Cancer Society recommends all women, beginning at age 40, get
an annual mammogram. When detected early, breast cancer patients have a 98
percent five year survival rate. In 2008, The American Cancer Society
estimated more than 2,600 Kentucky women would be diagnosed with breast
cancer and nearly 600 women were estimated to die from this often treatable
disease. For information on breast cancer, call the American Cancer Society
at 1-800-ACS-2345 or visit www.cancer.org.

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major
health problem by saving lives, diminishing suffering and preventing cancer
through research, education, advocacy and service. Founded in 1913 and with
national headquarters in Atlanta, the Society has 13 regional Divisions and
local offices in 3,400 communities, involving millions of volunteers across
the United States.
