"A Summer in Spain" at the National Gallery of Art: Garden Cafe Espana by Chef Jose Andres

The National Gallery of Art welcomes award-winning Spanish Chef José Andrés, who will transform the Gallery’s picturesque Garden Café into Garden Café España in honor of Luis Meléndez: Master of the Spanish Still Life and The Art of Power: Royal Armor and Portraits from Imperial Spain. Served May 4 through September 17, the menu features signature Spanish dishes specially created by Chef Andrés and inspired by works of art in the exhibitions.

Chef Andrés, the host of PBS-TV's cooking series "Made in Spain," author of the companion cookbook, culinary director of the recently opened SLS Hotel and The Bazaar by José Andrés in Los Angeles, and chef /owner of THINKfoodGROUP, which operates the Washington restaurants Jaleo, Café Atlantico, Zaytinya, Oyamel and Minibar by José Andrés, worked in partnership with Restaurant Associates at the Gallery to create Garden Café España. The offerings, which include a buffet as well as à la carte dishes specially created by Chef Andrés, will be paired with wines. Recipe cards for some items are made available to Garden Café patrons with their meals.
