Keg Tapping: Emancipator Doppelbock at Over-the-Rhine Pretzel Fest

Be the first to drink this year’s Emancipator Doppelbock at the Over-the-Rhine Pretzel Fest, from 6 P.M. - 10 P.M. on Friday January 21, 2011 at Venue 222 (222 E 14th St).The keg tapping will be a fun night and is a grass-roots fundraiser for the nineteenth annual Bockfest, being held March 4 -6, 2011.

The Moerlein Emancipator is a German style Doppelbock featuring six varieties of uniquely blended malts creating a robust dark lager with a toasted character and complex hints of caramel and toffee.

Event Details:

· The legendary “Cincinnati Dancing Pigs” will be performing live

· Local bakeries and restaurants will showcase unique pretzel creations. Participating bakers: MOTR, Shadeau, Taste of Belgium, EAT WELL Catering, and Mecklenberg Gardens.

· Admission is $35 and includes: unique sampling of freshly baked pretzels , four drink tickets, a brat, and a chance to win the Ultimate Bockfest Weekend. (Additional food and beverage will also be available.)

· UPDATE: Keg Tapping of the official Bockfest beer, the Emancipator Doppelbock.

· All proceeds go toward the costs of Bockfest 2011, Tickets can be purchased at www.bockfest.com

Bockfest organizers are dedicated both to growing the size and scope of the festival as well as to keeping it local and authentically Cincinnati. Bockfest depends on local sponsors and grass-roots fundraising. Pretzelfest is an example. Bockfest is also raising funds necessary through two raffles, the Arnold’s Bathtub Raffle and the Ultimate Bockfest Weekend Raffle.
